Straddling the municipalities of Bron, Saint-Priest and Chassieu, the Porte des Alpes area is the focus of a major urban study led by the Metropole de Lyon, with the aim of imagining the Porte des Alpes in 2030, 2040 and 2050. In order to think about this change in a holistic way, the Metropole of Lyon, assisted by Team Lafayette, together with the State, the towns of Bron, Chassieu and Saint-Priest, as well as SYTRAL Mobilités and the Sepal, undertook a major project to design the future of the Grande Porte des Alpes area. For a year and a half, the consortium led by Lafayette held discussions with the various players in the area to come up with diagnoses, visions and proposals for the future of the Porte des Alpes, in a context of climate change, on subjects as varied as nature, housing, the economy, food and mobility. The work produced as part of this forward-looking approach will enable the emergence of a methodology or tools for thinking about and planning territorial development, which could be exported to other sites in the Metropole or to other local authorities.
